Vietnamese government, as documented in the Constitution, is the executive body of the National Assembly of Vietnam as well as the highest administrative agency of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Government works under the supervision of the National Assembly and regularly reports all businesses to the National Assembly.
Term of government is a five-year period for key positions including Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and Chiefs of agencies at ministerial level. Prime Minister - the head of government is nominated by the President and approved by the National Assembly. Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung is now the current Prime Minister of Vietnam.Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and Chiefs of agencies at ministerial level are appointed by the Prime Minister. Vietnamese government’s structure involves 18 ministries and 4 agencies at ministerial level. Besides, Vietnamese government also manages 5 administrative offices and 3 communications agencies (Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television and the Voice of Vietnam).
