In the middle of the nature of Ha Long, a cave with a very rustic name: Dau Go cave. The cave is located on Dau Go Island. Looking back from a distance, the cave door is blue with the shape of a jellyfish, over 90 steps of stone built us to the cave entrance. The cave is about 25m high, from above, hundreds of giant stalactites fall down like a strange waterfall.

The cave is located on Dau Go Island, which was once called Canh Bo Island. The book Dai Nam Nhat has recorded that "Hon Canh Don Lon island has a spacious cave that can accommodate several thousand people, nearby the island of Ga Ga, Hon Meo, Hon La ..."

The reason for this is called Dau Go cave, according to the old legend, said: In the resistance war against Nguyen Mong, Tran Hung Dao prepared many ironwood stakes here to plug into Bach Dang River, there were many pieces of wood remaining. That’s why it’s called Dau Go Cave. The cave is divided into three main sections. The outside of the dome is full of natural light, the ceiling is a huge "oil painting", in which a wild landscape is drawn, which is the herds of elephants going to feed, the deer Why bewildered, the lion sleeps dimly ... with extremely lively postures.

Below is a turtle swimming between immense water tanks, stalagmites and stalactites with many strange shapes depending on the rich imagination of each person. Standing under the dome, it feels like standing in the middle of an ancient castle, with a grand and majestic architecture.

In the middle of the cave, there is a giant pillar against the sky, dozens of people embrace no need, from the bottom of the pillar to the top, the sculpted hand of creation creates the shape of flying clouds, dragons, phoenix dance flowers, vines ... At the top of the column, I suddenly caught a monk wearing a dark cloak, his right hand holding a cane in chanting posture, reciting Buddha's name.

Through the 1st compartment, enter the 2nd compartment with a narrow door, light shines on here, the new paintings show up in mysterious glitter. The stone flowers hidden at the present time, the images are both familiar and strange and so on giving people both fear and curiosity.

At the end of the cave is an advanced well, four seasons of clear fresh water, flowing all year round. Unconsciously, I looked upwards in the dim light, and I realized that the four surroundings were an ancient wall, on which a strange battle was going on, elephants roaring, people and horses crowding, swords The spears were brimming with sparks, all in a rushing posture and suddenly petrified here.

In 1917, Khai Dinh King visited Dau Go Cave, marveling at the fairy beauty of creation, he engraved an epitaph with the content of praising the beauty of Ha Long country and Dau Go Cave. Currently, the stone tablet is still on the right side of the cave.

The book Merveille de Monde (world wonder) published by France in 1938 specializes in tourism introducing world famous landscapes called Dau Go cave Grotte des merveilles (cave of wonders). That is absolutely correct.
